Summary
Last week, we got a private tour of Vow Foods, the Sydney-based biotech startup engineering entirely new categories of meat without touching a live animal.
They just got legal approval to sell their cultured meat in Australia, so the team is ramping up production capacity and getting ready to scale.
But Vow’s future could go far beyond retail. At its core, Vow seems less of a food company, and more of a well-oiled biotech engineering/manufacturing firm.
They’ve raised $74m to date, have a completely custom-built facility, world-leading expertise, and world-class talent (after all, the CEO has successfully recruited employees from SpaceX).
Vow is currently raising a funding round to scale their growth. We’re planning to open an SPV so Altea members can invest alongside Vow as it embarks on a global rollout.
We don’t have the deal terms, or a full deal memo yet. But can express interest now.
