⚓ Invest in Deep-Sea Treasure Expeditions
Recover underwater assets through real maritime salvage expeditions.
Oceyon is a Swiss-based maritime recovery firm, retrieving underwater assets from real shipwrecks using next-gen robotics and AI.
They locate high-value wrecks in international waters (think sunken merchant ships, precious metals, wartime cargo) and recover the treasures under tight legal, operational and environmental controls.

Formal investment details will be unveiled this week.
Here’s what we can say for now:
- Capital will be deployed on a project-by-project basis.
- Investments will have a milestone-driven structure tied to mission success. (Oceyon is targeting up to two missions in 2026, and up to four in 2027.)
- Investors will participate in upside through a revenue share agreement.
This is one of most unique investment opportunities we’ve ever done.
Investment memo will be unveiled this week.
Accredited investors only.
🆕 Deal Updates
Two updates to share this week.
Film I & Launch JV
Last week we had two loans pay back, both mostly on time and both with fantastic IRRs.
Father of Us

Fish in a Tree

Late last week, we made a $280k loan to a Canadian mini-series project in post-production. It’s a 17-week loan paying 1.05% interest per week.
These align with the overall performance of Launch JV and Film I
Launch JV

Film I

Both are closed now, but there are occasionally opportunities to co-invest in specific loans.

Auto I
We’ve acquired two flash vehicles over the last couple of weeks.

We’ve already found a buyer for the SLS, and we’re speaking with several interested parties about the Ferrari 360.
The aim for both is around an 8% to 10% return over four to six weeks.
Not us, but here’s a video with a guy driving an SLS while talking about whether or not it’s a good investment. TL;DR he thinks they could go up to 500k GBP (roughly 50 million American dollars at current exchange rates).
And here’s a guy going nuts over a Challenge Stradale
TL;DR: It’s awesome.

💬 New Discussions
- Mika’s hot sauce comment coincided with larger hot sauce happenings, including private equity buying Tapatío.
- Scott and Chris from Kingscrowd had a refreshingly honest podcast on StartEngine’s own fundraising, and the harsh economics of Reg CF crowdfunding:
“StartEngine is valued at $2 billion, and reported ~$92m in revenue L12. But most of that is transaction volume from their private SPV business.
This is totally GAAP-compliant, but it’s like the equivalent of an ecommerce company reporting GMV as revenue. Sounds big, tells you very little. We’re almost 10 years into Reg CF and the tone is basically: this is way harder than everyone thought.”
- Money Talk mentioned a lawsuit against Hasbro about overprinting Magic The Gathering cards
- A father and son just mathematically proved that AI agents will never do what Silicon Valley is promising
- Are Bangladesh equities severely underpriced?
“I don’t think trading access is the hard part. Foreigners can usually execute through local brokers/custody.
The real question is convertibility and repatriation: getting proceeds back out in hard currency on a predictable timeline. In a market that’s often short USD, with capital controls and heavy admin, you can end up with paper profits but trapped liquidity. And using a fund doesn’t eliminate that risk. It just moves it up to the fund level, showing up as longer redemption terms, gates/side pockets, or delayed distributions.
If you can’t reliably move capital and gains, “cheap on earnings” matters a lot less.” – Bryan Cooley
- Legion M feels like an insane amount of risk for 7-15% returns
- Signs of trouble for Cognac
- Jason shared a cool story of how Charlie Fawcett scored 240 Land Rover Defenders before production ended.
“Man, you wanna talk about an alternative investment in unique cars, this is it.
He fought off court attempts to kill the deal, raised millions to fund it, stashed Defenders in horse barns while completing a handful of builds a month, delivered them to clients around the globe, and grew Twisted Automotive into a powerhouse. Super cool story.” – Jason Cronen
💬 New Poll
An Altea trip to Japan trip might genuinely be in the cards this year.
In March we’re working with a Japanese whiskey company that owns a few distilleries, which opened the door. The rough idea would be an investor trip centered around visiting the distilleries, plus a few days in Tokyo and some other fun, behind-the-scenes experiences.
We’re still very early in planning, but before we go too far down the rabbit hole, we wanted to get some feedback, because we know it’s a big deal.
