The Oceyon team from Maritime I is offering Altea members the chance to invest at a lower valuation of CHF 15M pre-money.
This is a meaningful discount to the CHF 20M valuation in the investor memo.

- After months of development and testing, Nicolas from Oceyon demoed their proprietary underwater drone in Zurich alongside a big group of investors, partners, including Altea investor Markus Pfeiler.

- Bryan thinks Australia ending its real estate “cheat code” won’t affect property investing demand, and will probably make things worse:
“Unfortunately it’s all a big joke. Many Australians I’ve talked to are still all-in on property. If they’re not already buying through a self managed retirement fund then they’re setting it up. If anything will probably just make things worse by less property turnover for those grandfathered in, like [Stefan] mentioned, and an increase in rents as well (already seeing early signs of this).
In the end though, I can’t see how this isn’t all a house of cards. If rates go too tight or banks stop lending or there’s elimination of foreign ownership or some other perfect storm of events, I think the party is eventually over and all this paper wealth will go up in flames.
Sure this has gone on for 40 years but I don’t believe it’s sustainable forever.“

The deal is called Riviera Avocado Grove, and it’s a 99-acre Hass avocado grove in beautiful Santa Barbara, CA.

- 9.3% average cash yield
- 2.3x MOIC
- 10-year hold, with 30% debt leverage.
It must be said that Santa Barbara has particularly delicious avocados.

Our first ever meetup in Valencia, Spain is on Thursday, July 9th.
Join me and as we spend an afternoon with Guy Kleinboim, visiting the site of the Alvaro 16 beachside apartment project in La Malvarrosa Beach.
We’ll gather at 2:00pm for the site visit. At 4:00pm, we’ll sit down for lunch at Casa Montaña — a famous Valencia tapas restaurant in the heart of the Cabanyal beach area, just steps from the project.
