We’ve got 18 investors committed to Whisky I, and our first acquisition is happening on Tuesday!
Docs have been sent out, and wires are due this week. If you haven’t received docs yet (or if you haven’t committed but would like to invest) contact Wyatt right away.
In the meantime, Samuel posted some pics from the gorgeous Ontake Distillery which we are planning on visiting in October.

Welcome to the 49 new members since last week 👋

A few notable members..

🇦🇺 🇲🇽 Those who joined our 2024 trip to Jalisco may remember Priscila Macias, who helped organize the hotels & restaurants. Originally from Mexico, she has made Australia her home, and just started a new venture called Casa México.
The idea is simple: There are no permanent art galleries with contemporary Mexican artwork in the entire country. Her first milestone is opening up a Melbourne showroom later this year.

🇯🇵 🇦🇺 Jamie Halse is the CIO and co-founder of Senjin Capital, a small cap activist investor in Japan. His firm targets valuation gaps between Japanese public and private markets, and tries to avoid friction with management if they can.

🇪🇸 Istvan Pasku is the founder and owner of PASKU.CO, a modern, premium real estate brand, focusing on lifestyle properties in Spain & Europe. He gives a personal touch — personally welcoming clients at the airport, curating highly targeted property tours, and getting pre-launch deals from developers.

- Can the ocean (or Metallica) speed up the aging process?
- Does a dramatic decrease in Chinese imports negatively affect the financials of the Whisky I offering?

“I invested in what is now VCX. I needed Anduril, Antropic and X companies exposure and the Fundrise Innovation Fund was the only way to accomplish that
I am locked out till September myself. Just the same, and just like DXYZ, ITS A HOME RUN.
I hope ARKVX follows a similar trajectory when the Musk crew takes their companies public.
When reason and analytics prevail, even a “ measly” 5-8x ROIC works just fine for me! It’s a good day!”–
John B Nikoloau, on Fundrise
“Can confirm anecdotally – it came up on both coasts during the same week for me this month. Apparently, one group of parents was actively planning in their group chat a regular “mom-jong” session. There’s also a local coffee shop that’s hosting a mahjong meetup. Then this came up on my algorithm” 👀 – Kaylock Yam, on the rise of Mahjong
“On the ocean aging side, I’d say there is something to it. The constant motion essentially “stirs” the spirit against the wood, which has to drive more interaction than a barrel just sitting stagnant in a warehouse.
The experimental angle is interesting too. Blackened had me straight away as a Metallica fan (biased!), but using vibration to “overclock” the barrel and force the liquid into the wood grain makes sense directionally.” – Ronan Cullen, on speeding up the aging process
“Really interesting read. The part that stood out to me: we’ve made the market so efficient that we’ve squeezed out what made collecting fun in the first place — discovery, access, and connection.
I don’t think the hobby is dying, though. It’s just splitting. The opportunity is in rebuilding the human side of this. Work directly with athletes, focus on storytelling and experience, not just resale value, and lean into global markets (like cricket) that are massively underserved.
Feels less like the end of a hobby and more like the start of a different version of it. Curious how others are seeing it. – Omar Khokhar, on “How to Ruin a Hobby”

Rare Añejo Sale: Sip or Flip?
Our good friends at House of Rare have a new special offer for the Alts community: The Genesis PX.
- 🟡 This is a 750ml bottle of glorious Extra Añejo, 100% pure agave, first distilled back in 2023. We know these barrels well.
- 🟤 It was aged for three years in Buffalo Trace Bourbon casks(rich and caramel-y)
- 🟣 To finish, it was poured into extremely rare Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry casks(luxurious dried fruit, spices, and layered sweetness.)

Sip or flip — Your choice
Ok, here’s where things get interesting.
You can enjoy these bottles yourself, or you can resell them on the secondary market.
The world is catching on to how good House of Rare stuff is, and previous releases are being sold on secondary market for 2-4x.
- Last month’s Founders Cut was originally $170. It sold out in 2 days. Its already being listed at $400
- Stefan paid $175 for this HoR/Cascahuin bottle last year. It’s now worth $700 (!)
How to reserve a bottle
The allocation is limited and the page will only remain open briefly. It won’t last long.
