👭 New Members
Lots of new Alteans to welcome this week as several folks joined ahead of the second tranche of Film I.
- Maksim Levoshin, referred to Altea by Tigran, is an entrepreneur and investor with nearly 20 years in tech. He currently lives in Brazil but once spent two years visiting 137 countries.
- Pawel Budny, also referred by Tigran, is Managing Partner at Lazenne, a French company specialising in wine travel solutions. Need to get that case of Bollinger home from Champagne safely? Paul’s your guy.
- Taras Stanislavchuk, referred by Tigran as well, is a Physics PhD living in NYC working as a quantitative analyst.
- Abhijit Dhar is CTO at Ascent Portal and lives outside Austin, Texas. He’s into real estate, startups, vintage autos, and wine.
- Sukhkaran Hundal, who lives in southern California,
- Valerie Fristachi works at Bloomberg in NYC and has signed up to be a City Captain. She’ll be running the Valencia Marathon this Christmas.
- Chris Evans, who lives in Boston, is a seasoned Altea investor who finally pulled the trigger on a membership.
- Gary Jarrett is into private credity (who isn’t these days), PE, and real estate.
- Noah Bortnick is the founder & Head of DeFi Markets at Carpathian Crypto, a digital asset investment firm managing over $20 million in AUM across liquid token strategies, DeFi yield generation, and tokenized fund infrastructure. He lives in Kansas City.
- Mike Storeim, from Evergreen, Colorado, specializes in rare US coins, paper money, and original 1960s concert Posters. He’s also the founder of Classic Posters.
- Dasha Titlebaum is a UX Design Consultant originally from Boston, who also now lives in Colorado. She’s also an excellent photographer. (For those who recall last year’s Nashville event, Dasha took all these excellent pictures.)

Our City Captains pilot programme is growing like a weed in spring. We’ve now got volunteers for:

IRL events will be a big part of Altea in the back half of 2025. Base members are invited to join local events, while Gateway and Black members get an invite to Vegas next March.

In this week’s WC, I drank in the French whisky scene and distilled the investment thesis for acquiring Maison Lineti, a high-potential player in the arena.
