Altea Update: May 4

Hello there,

Welcome to the best of the Altea Community.

Lots of ops improvements as we prepare for our next SPV.

Performance update:

Let’s go 🚀

Introducing Altea Free

You’ve probably seen the big news:

We’ve opened Altea to everyone!

Individuals no longer need a paid membership to invest in our deals.

  • 👍 New simple pricing. There will be two tiers: Altea Free and Altea Paid. That’s the menu.
  • ✅ Open to everyone. You no longer need a paid Altea membership to invest in our SPVs. (Though for larger investors, it’s definitely worth having.)
  • ⬆️ Grandfathered pricing. If you’re already a paying member, no matter what plan you’re on today, you’re coming out ahead. You can keep your rate permanently as long as you’d like.
  • 🏆 The more you invest, the lower your fees. Earn management fee reductions through our Rewards program.

Why did we do this?

Easy. Stefan and I know our deals are great, and we want more people to be able to invest in them. That’s it.

Yes, we’ll take a hit on this. But we’ve realized the most important long-term thing we can do for our community is expand access, not restrict it.

Our job is to add value, not to put up walls. The new structure reflects that.

Any accredited investor can now access the full Altea deal pipeline. SPVs, film co-invests, everything. There is no annual subscription, no upfront commitment, no wall between you and the deals.

Start on Free, see how you go, and let the numbers tell you when to move up.

🏎️ Auto I Update

Momentum Builds with Two Strong Exits

The first half of the Auto I Fund has delivered two clean exits in quick succession, lifting the fund’s average annualized returns.

David Spickett and the Auto I team have closed the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale and Mercedes SLS AMG in back-to-back trades.

The Challenge Stradale, acquired and exited in just over two months, returned 36% net annualized, a clear example of the fund’s ability to identify momentum pockets and act ahead of broader supply.

The SLS AMG, sourced as a low-mileage example in December and sold for late May, returned 17% net annualized, reinforcing the depth of opportunity beyond Ferrari alone.

Two acquisitions are already progressing to keep capital deployed:

  • Ferrari 430 Scuderia, still relatively undervalued versus both the Challenge Stradale and 458 Speciale, and
  • Lamborghini Diablo VT, currently overlooked next to the SV and SE30 Jota variants but arguably the more compelling analogue, rear-wheel-drive proposition for collectors leaning into rawness and nostalgia.

The thesis remains simple: buy late-90s and early-2000s icons ahead of recognition, act with conviction, and exit into strength. The market continues to reward rarity, analogue feel, and emotional connection.

Our Auto II fund is scheduled for this fall.

⛩️ Whisky I Update

First Bottling Locked In: Kiyokawa 2023

We’ve now selected the 2023 Kiyokawa cask as our first bottling project for Whisky I, which we’re targeting for late Q2 / Q3 this year.

Really exciting to get this underway and to move from concept into the first tangible release.

Kiyokawa’s first official release “The Cask” has seen a fantastic response, strong demand and, importantly, excellent liquid.

The Cask
It’s a great signal for what’s to come here. You can even pick up one of the remaining bottles.

From there, we’ll look to bottle the two Hanyu casks (2022 and 2021) over the following 12–18 months, continuing that staggered release approach and building momentum with each release.

We’ll start working on bottle and label design shortly and will keep everyone in the loop as that develops.

It’s a really exciting stage now. This is where things start to become very real, from casks in the warehouse to bottles in hand. A genuinely unique project, and great to have you all involved.

🗺️ Maritime I Update

For the past two months, the Oceyon team has been testing, validating, and pushing their technology where it is meant to perform: 250 meters below the surface.

In real conditions, far from shore, their self-built ROV proved exactly what we needed it to prove. They reached the seabed, found the target, and confirmed that onboard systems performed exactly as planned.

The sonar was precise, visuals came through in high resolution, and the newly designed cable held flawlessly.

At these depths, a reliable connection is everything. There is no wireless shortcut underwater, so seeing the system perform so cleanly is a major milestone.

The next step has already begun: our tech and AI specialist, Panos, is now using the data from this mission to train and improve models and develop 3D visuals.
