🍿 Film I Tranche II | Opens May 12
This one is blowing the doors off. We’re capping tranche II at $2m, and interest is already well above that, with most tranche I investors increasing their exposure.
Deal Overview
The Launch Film Bridge Fund presents a unique investment opportunity in the film financing sector. The fund provides short-term bridge loans to carefully vetted film projects, typically for 8-14 weeks, to cover critical early-stage production costs.
The fund focuses on senior-secured positions, rapid turnaround times, and comprehensive legal protection, including completion guarantees. It aims to generate attractive returns while mitigating risks inherent in film production financing.
Deal Basics
Tranche Size: $2,000,000
Minimum Investment: $10,000
Potential IRR: 20% to 39.59% (97% thus far)
Deal Type: Debt (Bridge Loans)
Deal Duration: 5 years (4.5 years remain)
If you’d like to get in on this, please let me know ASAP.
Note: this opportunity is available to Altea members only. You need to join Altea first if you want to invest.

🚨 Big Altea Updates
New ways to enrich yourself
Dedicated readers will have seen Stefan’s note Sunday launching Altea’s new membership tiers. The new model introduces both a gateway tier and a premium option for Alteans who would like a bit more flexibility (and who wouldn’t?).
IRL > Zoom
I also wrote a moving recap of last week’s USA meetups for the WC Wednesday, which included a stealthy plug for Film 1’s tranche II.
Based on this, we’re going to double down with three more locations:
🐮 Texas in July (RSVP coming soon)
🌉 San Francisco in July (RSVP coming soon)
🎰 Las Vegas (bigly) next March. This is about 50% full now. (RSVP)
The investor portal is actually really nearly ready
Those who pay attention know I’ve been teasing the new investor portal quite a lot lately, and it’s always…just…a…few…days…away.
We’re nearly there, and I’m just squashing the last one or two bugs before you’re exposed to it.
Keep an eye out for a note next week, God willing.
💬 New Discussions
- Florian wants to know: Is Japanese anime the next global IP goldmine?
- Nicholas Shorvon (our London artwork broker) wants you to know there is an excellent panel discussion in NYC this Friday, with art historian Katy Hessel
- Every single horse that participated in the 2025 Kentucky Derby is a descendant of Secretariat 😮
- Andrew Adamides has lots of thoughts on Sinners — the box office champion with an unusual financing model.
“Sinners was co-financed with the studio by a private equity company (rather than the studio putting up the whole budget). Also, Ryan Coogler begins gross revenue sharing from Day 1, NOT after the studio (Warners) recoups. This is unprecedented and he was seemingly able to demand this because he brought in the co-financier.
They’ll never make it public but I’d be very interested to see details of the waterfall, because this film was VERY expensive to make, especially for a horror movie and even more especially for a non-franchise one.
Regardless, they think this may open up possibilities for more studios to mitigate risk with similar co-financing structures going forward, which could well also open up interesting investment opportunities in studio-backed pictures.” – Andrew Adamides

❗ New Warning
Scotch cask investment firm Braeburn Whisky (also known as Whisky Merchants Trading Ltd.,) has collapsed and gone into administration, placing millions of investor dollars at risk.
This has spurred some important discussion among community members, including Miguel Ortiz, who deliberately keeps things small, and doesn’t chase scale for the sake of it.
This is an important story in the alternative investing world. Wyatt also provided a helpful article on how to protect yourself from whisky cask scams (of which there are many).
Have you have invested in whisky casks through Braeburn?
Let us know. We will try and help you.
That’s it for today. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions.
Cheers,
Wyatt
