2000 Tom Brady Championship Ticket
About the Asset
This is a 2000 Tom Brady Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket card — the most sought after Tom Brady rookie card out there. There was only a print run of 100 and it is notoriously difficult to find in pristine condition. There are 9 PSA 8s, 27 BGS 8.5s, 7 BGS 9s, and 1 PSA 9. This card is graded a BGS 8.5 with an autograph grade of 10 and is serial numbered 54/100. This is the same grade as the card that briefly set the record for Brady cards when it sold for $2.25 million at Leland’s in March.
It is a rarer parallel of the Rookie Ticket card, of which Collectable has a basket of 2 graded BGS 9/10 trading currently at a market cap of $211,320 and Rally Road has one BGS 9/10 trading currently at a market cap of $71,625. The last BGS 9/10 that sold at auction was at Heritage a couple weeks back for $81,000.

Collectable has been scheduling their IPOs for trading around 3 months after they fund, though recently some assets have been pushed back further than that.

About Tom Brady
Wyatt originally wrote about Brady here, on his old site. Suffice to say, he’s widely regarded as the GOAT quarterback as a result of his SEVEN Super Bowl titles (2nd place is just 4) and his marriage to supermodel Gisele Bundchen puts his cultural impact on par with just about any athlete in the world.

Future Growth and Catalysts
This is the grail card for Brady and will keep making headlines when it breaks records. I don’t think Brady’s performance on the field can do anything to harm it, but if he continues to make deep playoff runs or wins another Super Bowl, it could cause demand to get even higher.
There’s a BGS 8.5/10 at the PWCC Premier auction that hammers in a couple of weeks that will give a good idea of what the market price is now.
There’s also a BGS 8/9 up for sale at Lelands – it won’t hammer for another 3 weeks but keep an eye on it. If it eclipses $1MM, that will be a very solid result.
Verdict
The retained equity level is such that any investor will have no say in any buyout offers in the future. [Full Evaluation for Insiders Only]

About the Drop
This asset will drop on Rally Road at 12 PM ET on September 9th, 2021 for $325,000. There is no retained equity. Rally Road typically schedules the first trading window between 3-5 months after the IPO funds and the assets are supposed to then trade quarterly, but the schedule has been erratic.

Verdict
Brady is already the GOAT and I’m not sure what else he can do to provide short-term boosts to his cards’ value — but long-term, he’s as blue-chip as they come. If you want to invest in the PSA 10 version of this card — the Otis one is trading at a much more attractive price.
