Cultural Relevance
You, I, and everyone out there knows who Michael Jordan is, and most likely knows that he shockingly retired from basketball in 1993 and went to play minor league baseball in 1994.
It was mostly remembered as a failure, but for a person to jump to Double-A after not playing for a long time and not completely embarrass themselves was a legitimate accomplishment. He was improving when the baseball strike hit that August and a lot of people think that he would have eventually gotten a chance to make the majors if he’d continued playing.
Here’s an interesting write-up if you want to learn more about his time in the minors. And here he is hitting a bomb:

Recent Growth Trend
Growth Outlook and Future Catalysts
Jordan memorabilia will always be a good long-term hold, even if the market has been falling recently. But there’s no reason to expect that a signed bat will rise in value any time soon, now that “The Last Dance” bubble has popped.
Asset Liquidity
This will have a roughly 90 day lockup period then will trade daily.
Platform Risk
Intangibles
While the retained equity level is under 50%, it’s still pretty substantial (and a great deal for the consignor, who recoups more than their initial investment and keeps a controlling share). A Michael Jordan bat is a fun story and a curiosity but it’s not an item that serious collectors will covet.
