Star Atlas is an upcoming AAA quality space game. It will have an intricate in-game economy supported by NFTs and run on the cheap and lightning-fast Solana blockchain.

Star Atlas is releasing a NFT poster each Saturday for 14 weeks and this is the second in that series. Each piece has an augmented reality experience and includes some musician collaborations. They also give access to in-game rewards and VIP experiences going forward. Starting at $64, each week’s poster gets more expensive than the previous week, with improving reward tiers.
During the purchase window, there is no limit on the number of people that can purchase each poster. In order to get the tier rewards, you need to purchase all the posters up to the top of the tier as shown below.
The sale will be open for a week for the first poster, but the purchase window will decrease for future posters. These will be purchasable with USDC on the Solana blockchain or with ETH through Opensea.

10,298 posters were sold in the first sale through Star Atlas’ event page on the Solana blockchain, while only 71 were sold on Opensea (likely due to Ethereum’s prohibitively high fees).
Typical prices
The secondary marketplace is not live yet for the Solana-based NFTs, but two Ethereum-based NFTs have already resold for $175 and $200. The initial prices for the rest of the sale are in the image above.

While there are a lot of unknowns about what the rewards will entail, the game is likely to be very high quality and the rewards could be massive. This is a long term hold (at least Q2 2022 when the full game launches) and I recommend buying up to whatever reward tier you can afford given that timeline.

This is a collaboration between a top-tier NFT artist and an iconic visual brand, so I expect demand to be quite high. Playboy has indicated that they intend to continue to engage with the NFT space, which is crucial for long-term price appreciation.

This project is coming from one of the most successful NFT creation companies so far, who have a large audience of holders to tap into. Having a large portion of the supply given away for free adds some significant risk to buying, but also helps to create a community around the project.
