About Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Johnson has had an undeniably varied and successful career as a football player, professional wrestler and actor.
His films have grossed over $14B, and may WWE fans rate “The Rock” as one of the best of all time.
Johnson won a national championship with UM in 1991 and entered the NFL draft, but went undrafted. He had a go in Canada but was cut after the first season.
Johnson’s charismatic act in the ring quickly propelled him to stardom in the ring. He then leveraged that into a film career.
Johnson has featured in a number of mediocre but high-grossing films, including several of the Fast and the Furious movies, some mummy stuff, and a whole lot of other stuff that makes my brain hurt.
His HBO show, Ballers, ran for five seasons and was the network’s most-watched comedy during its run. Johnson also founded his own entertainment production company, wrote a bestseller, and was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the World. No kidding.
Finally, co-owns the sort-of-probably-defunct XFL.
The man has made the most of his gifts.
