The legendary city is dotted with vibrant live music venues, recording studios, museums housing priceless memorabilia, countless festivals, and deluxe restaurants.
It’s also the home to a litany of music tech startups, as well as a great bourbon scene, and a booming real estate market.
The city’s unique blend of history, industry presence, and cultural diversity offers a fertile ground for exploring music investment ideas — and forging lasting partnerships in the music industry and beyond.

What you’ll do
This trip will strike a balance between engaging music-related experiences, investment opportunities, and speakers.
You’ll stay at the Fairlane Hotel — an experiential hotel in downtown Nashville and creative gathering place for adventurous people seeking an authentic Nashville experience.
In the mornings we’ll host legendary speakers over breakfast at the hotel.
In the afternoons we’ll tour recording studios, go backstage at famous music venues, catch a live show or two, and experience a river boat cruise.
In the evenings we’ll dine at mouth-watering steakhouses, sample the finest Kentucky Bourbons, and a little honky-tonking (maybe).
In between it all, there will be ample downtime to relax and explore the city at your leisure.
Music rights
Music rights are one of the most sought-after, and yet least-understood alternative asset classes.
Owning song rights entitles you to royalties which are paid out each time the song is played or reproduced. Top investors buy directly from record companies, others through platforms like JKBX. But the entry bar is high, and getting access to the best deals is very difficult.
Nashville has a unique concentration of industry pros and royalties infrastructure, including legal and financial experts specializing in music law and rights transactions.
Our goal is to return from this trip with concrete, diligenced rights deals, which we can potentially invest in together through an Altea SPV.
Music startups
For startups in the music space, Nashville is the place to be. You’ll meet founders from companies like:
- JKBX is a music investment platform that allows investors to own shares in royalties like they were stocks. Legendary founder and CEO Scott Cohen will be joining us.
- MySet empowers live musicians and DJs to accept paid song requests from the crowd. We’ll see the tech in action at a live show with founders Sam Miller and Logan Martin.
- Anno Domini Nation is a marketplace for buying & selling beats. The founder and CEO Adrian Boeckeler will be joining us for the week.
- Mozaic streamlines the music production process, including project management, rights administration, and payment tracking.
- Artiphon designs and manufactures innovative instruments that cater to the digital age.
- Songfluencer is a marketing firm that specializes in the power of influencers and social media to promote music.
Who you’ll meet
We’re gathering together industry pros and local experts to share their insights and educate us on the music investing landscape.
You’ll meet successful producers and songwriters, emerging artists, music startup founders, auction house reps, venue owners and booking agents.
You’ll also meet fellow Alts community members who live in the area and are connected to Nashville’s music ecosystem.
Music memorabilia
Investing in music memorabilia is a potentially lucrative venture for collectors, investors, and fans.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Johnny Cash Museum are great places to see unique collections.
But Nashville occasionally hosts special exhibitions and music memorabilia auctions; private events where renowned musicians display and sell pieces from their private collection.
We’re going to try to get into one of these events, which are not always accessible to the public.
Nashville real estate
The Nashville metropolitan area is among the fastest-growing regions in the US.
There are lots of good trends in multifam housing, hospitality, and industrial real estate. But for those navigating the Nashville real estate market, staying informed about these trends and being prepared to act quickly on opportunities is crucial.
We’ll meet with locals who own & operate short-term rental properties to discuss the STR market, and maybe explore some Tennessee farmland ideas.

- Music Row: Walk Music Row, the heart of Nashville’s entertainment industry.
- Live performances: You can’t go to Nashville without seeing a live show or two.
- BBQ & bourbon: Nashville is known for its BBQ. And just a few hours from the Kentucky bourbon trail, Nashville has its share of high-quality bourbon distilleries.
- Record stores: The vinyl revival is in full swing here. We’ll hit the best spots.
- Entertainment: Evening river boat cruise, and possibly a golf outing at The Grove.

Rules & FAQ’s
This field trip is designed for professionals. It’s not just a party (though we’ll have plenty of fun). It won’t be a large, crowded event.
It’s a medium-sized gathering of 12-15 smart, alpha-seeking investors who have a bit of free time, are hungry to learn, and love meeting others.
It’s an authentic IRL experience for those looking for substance. No sugar coating, no blatant self promotion, no fluff.
How many people will be attending?
We are capping this event at 12 attendees. This is not meant to be a large party, but a small-to-medium-sized gathering of professionals. We’re optimizing for a quality experience.
How does the application process work?
There are no strangers on this trip, but trust is everything. So we are personally vetting all attendees.

If approved, credit card payment is required upfront. Attendees are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
How much does it cost?
The all-in cost for the trip is USD $9,000.
Does the price include flights?
No. The price includes everything except flights.
Your price includes 4 nights of luxury hotel accommodations, all meals, drinks, transportation, events, and extras. Flights are your responsibility.
Plan to arrive in Nashville on Monday, Oct 21, and depart on or before Friday Oct 25.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. You can pay in installments if you would like.
A 20% deposit ($1,800) is due immediately to hold your spot.
The remaining 80% must be received by August 31.
If you choose to pay in installments, the deposit is non-refundable. However, if for some reason you cannot join the trip, the deposited funds can be applied to a future trip.
What happens if I pay for the trip, but cannot attend?
If you have paid but cannot join the trip for some reason, the funds can be applied to a future trip.
Can I bring a friend/spouse?
Yes, absolutely.
In fact, if you bring someone along, we can give you both a discount. Let us know, we’d be happy to discuss!
Any other discounts available?
Alts.co investors who invested at least $10k in our most recent fundraise get a 50% discount on this trip.
Also, if you live in the Nashville area, we can reduce the ticket price if you don’t require a hotel room.

Do I need to be an Altea member to join?
No. Altea membership is not a requirement to join this trip.
However, Altea members get first dibs on all investor trips, and only Altea members can invest in our SPVs.
As a result, most attendees are members of Altea, and/or become members after joining. But Altea membership is not a requirement.
